Environmental Tectonics Corporation Lands New Training Contract With NIBRA/Dutch Rail Group
Posted on: Friday, 23 June 2006, 09:00 CDT
SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., June 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation ("ETC" or the "Company") today announced a new contract with the Netherlands Institute for Fire Services and Disaster Management (NIBRA) covering four new disaster training scenarios: two for the Dutch High-Speed Rail System and two for Hazardous Material Cargo Trains.
NIBRA ordered its first ETC ADMS(TM) Team training system in 2001 and since then has contracted annually with ETC for new rail training environments and scenarios. NIBRA is responsible for the fire-fighting industry standards in the Netherlands. It uses ADMS to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs that allow fire officers, incident managers and other emergency response personnel to fight fires and manage such incidents and disasters as an "integrated team." Prior to using the ADMS system, NIBRA training was only possible through expensive, less effective and very limited mock drills.
At the end of 2005, NIBRA formed a partnership with ETC and MOVARES (the international public transport development organization) to tackle a new project for the Dutch Rail System: to train multi-agency disaster teams in responding to and mitigating various railroad incidents, accidents and emergencies. This NIBRA partnership team was subsequently awarded the Dutch Rail contract and training will begin in September 2006.
The most complicated new ADMS training scenario will involve the famous Netherlands Groene Hart (Green Heart) Tunnel and a high-speed train on fire with hundreds of passengers on board up to 30 meters underground. This will be a very challenging exercise program with most of the action happening deep underground ... an exercise only possible through effective simulation.
ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems, public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers.
